Hi there,I have been involved in the fitness industry and children's programs for years and originally from the West Coast. I have found the difference between the west and Toronto is quite significant in regards to work-life balance. Some of this of course can be attributed to the warmer climate year round and the outdoor enviroment, however; I find there is a definite need for programs to educate children and their parents in regards to living active and establishing values around this from a young age so that it become natural.I am the owner of Think Fitness at Bloor & South Kingsway and we are very commited to challenging the community to put health and fitness at the forefront of community values especially for the youth as this is where you can make a life-changing impact on development. If there is anything we can assist with in regards to offering programs, trained exercise professionals, educative workshops etc. please let me know as I would be happy to assist. Currently, we are sponsoring youth soccer teams, working with youth to develop sport skills and planning some summer children's programs and after school programs for the fall. Please feel free to contact me to arrange a meeting and/or discuss any ideas. In good health,Brent BishopPresidentThink Fitness416-763-3488brent@thinkfitnessstudios.com

I am a resident of a condominium in Lakeshore Blvd. and we are trying to change to solar powered outdoor lighting. I understand that you had already done it and that it is successful. I would like to know where you got those lamps and would appreciate it very much if you could give any comments on them.

Thank you in advance,
Carmen Winstanley

Your comments prove that the BWVRA's goal is to promote NIMBYism. As a resident of the building, I would like to critique your home and suggest a proper budget so it can be improved to my standards.

The fellow respondents have shown that there is not much interest in your shallow views.

Great recap! The point of aiming for a “win, win” with the developer is a good one. Something is going to be built and the sooner resident groups accept this when something new is proposed, the sooner they can start to avoid the OMB and get a project that they may not love, but is FAR better then what the “winner take all” approach would produce. The OMB heavily favours the rich and powerful who have the bank roll to call expert witnesses to the stand. Avoiding the OMB is critical and strategies such as forcing elected representatives to “take a position” on a development only hurt chances for a favourable compromise.
